Hawksnest State Park, Harwich

· Rock Harbor before 9AM and after 4PM from June 15th to Labor Day (no restriction
in the off-season)
· Any public bay or pond bathing beaches from Labor Day to June 15th
· Cape Cod National Seashore ocean beaches except as follows:
1. During the summer on life guard-protected beaches. Passing through to unprotected
areas is permitted.
2. During shorebird nesting periods in seasonally posted locations. Passing through is prohibited. All fire roads
within the Cape Cod National Seashore
3. Fresh water ponds within the Cape Cod national Seashore (beaches and water), October 16th through May 14th.
WHERE NOT
PERMITTED:
· Designated nature trails at
any time because they affect wildlife
·
Bicycle trails
· Fresh water
ponds within the Cape Cod National (beaches and water), May 15th through October 15th
· Areas where certain shorebirds nest, especially the piping plover, a threatened
species under the endangered species Act. These are posted seasonally when prohibition is in effect
· Areas designated as "protected" by life guards during the summer
months. You may walk your leashed pet through these areas to the "non-protected" stretches of beach, beyond the
red signs.
Remember: Pets must be on a leash or under
the control of a responsible person
