Joanne was a sweetheart. A dedicated dog lover and supporter of Eastham Dog Owners' Association she was ready to participate and volunteer. She could be behind the booth at Windmill Weekend, setting up at the Bow Wow Bash or tending to the details at a oard meeting. Her favorite was LCAST. The shelter team drew on Joanne's forte of organizing and following procedure. Behind the check in desk, there were no shortcuts to be given. Rules were rules. Still, there she was, for hours on duty - even overnight - not to leave her post unstaffed for the dogs.
Joanne's last act coming just days before her death was to contribute to the Buddy Scholarship Fund, which she did often and generously. It would be hard to find such a character and such a kind heart as Joanne.
